WE WOULD LIKE TO SEE YOU!
Friday, June 3rd, 7.30 - 9.30pm
in Booker Memorial Hall
CONSCRIPTION
In 1916, the Government introduced conscription in order to secure more men for fighting on the Western Front. Men were entitled to appeal against being conscripted and a number did. Using stories from papers of the time, Andy Ford will explain who in Marlow and the surrounding area appealed against their conscription, why they did so and what happened to them.
Please come and bring your friends to hear a side of the story of WW1 which you may not have heard before.
£3 entry includes tea/coffee and cake.
