New discoveries in the search for
Great Marlow's manor house
Janet Smith

Janet is a local historian and former librarian who has made a lengthy study of manorial documents and buildings to discover the site of Great Marlow's earliest manor house.

Marlovians will now be intrigued to hear about her latest research, revealing how the Norman hall of the manor may have survived under a completely different guise until the mid-19th century. Janet's new conclusions completely overturn her earlier theories on the hall's location and general long-held beliefs about the town's history.
